Lamp's Review: New Bedford's
XfilesX come forward to us with this new release, 22 songs of quick thrash fury in only about 15 minutes.
The
songs are short and to the point, with some interesting riffs in the mix
over speedy drumming. The album also has a nice flow to it, especially when
you consider that a lot of the songs go directly into each other, only
separated by a new track number. The lyrics are another notable on this
album. While there may be the occasional stupid song, most of the lyrics
are powerful combining straight edge with nihilism denouncing things
ranging from drug use, to religion, to cheap cars made to look like racing
cars. If there is one gripe I have with the album, however, it's the recording
of the guitar, they certainly could have done a better job with it. Most
of the time it sounds like a cheap video game.
