Man, this band has certainly come a log way since it's first war metal incarnation as "Hellkult", and even their earlier demo material as "Wyrd".  Taking pride in progression while still producing simplistic black metal, "The Ghost Album" marks not only another great chapter in Wyrd's somewhat surprisingly underground career, but also raises the bar for black metal in 2006.  Not exactly setting the world on fire, but not exactly reinventing the wheel, the new one by Wyrd is a near perfect melodic black metal offering with its unpretentious sound and smooth flow over the course of five songs (lasting just a bit over 38 minutes).  Those not into the lighter (not to mention slower-paced) side of black metal are obviously going to hate this...the same people that generally hate material from, say, Rotting Christ.  For everybody else, even those that are not normally into anything black metal, this is a highly enjoyable listen that only gets better with age.  Sword-swinging black metal warriors aside, "The Ghost Album" is one of those albums I would recommend to any fan of metal.
