Third Death - Demo Contact: bdxskates@aol.com |
Scoot's Review:
Someone randomly handed me this crappy looking untitled demo
CD-R at the Forca Macabra show at AS220 (Providence, RI) in June.
No cover, no track listing, nothing. It's not even a name brand CD. For some
reason instead of just tossing it in the trash, I actually listened to it.
Glad I did too, because despite the nonexistent presentation and complete lack of audio fidelity, it is really good stuff.
Third Death harkens back to the skatepunk of the early 80's. Think
JFA or pre-crossover DRI for reference. Seven of the ten songs clock in at a
minute or less. Lightning speed hardcore with great thrash breakdowns
to fuel those all-ages circle pits. It's raw around the edges and sounds like it was recorded on a boombox, but shows great promise and
has already generated good word of mouth for the band. |
