Lamp's Review:
Upon deciding to expand my horizons into the world of music, I realized I wanted to hear something slower and mellower than the heavy doses of grind and hardcore that I've become so accustomed to. It wasn't long before I heard of Sunn O))) and their loud, droning basses.  There is very little drumming to be heard on this recording aside from maybe the occasional splash cymbal in the background.  This is as simple as listening gets.  The songs are long and repetitive.  Some of the riffs played, simple as they are actually get to be quite catchy at times, like the low buzzing of Orthodox Caveman, and the intro to Candlegoat, tranceful and filled with delay.  There are vocals and lyrics as well, sparsely spread through the songs, but it amounts to demonic screeching.  Whether or not you like it is up to you, but it does suit the overall mood of the CD so it works for me.  While this isn't the type of band I could listen to all the time, when I'd rather relax or my mind feels fried, this is the perfect background noise for it.
