Uncle Meat's Review:
I was going through a huge Sodom phase at some point in my life.  I was listening to Code Red a lot, and though I've lost some feeling for that album, its still a great listen.  Maybe the problem for me is I compare each Sodom album to Code Red instead of placing each album in it's proper context.

Better Off Dead is a screwy album for me.  When I first listened to it I hated it, then I recognized the brilliance.  Now, listening to it, it has it's good and bad moments.  I'd be tempted to say this is a pretty good album.  For now…

Two cover songs?!  Do we really need two cover songs?  I don't care how much you like Thin Lizzy, though Cold Sweat is a nice choice.  Also Michael Hoffman.  Great rhythm sound, but leads all sound the same.  And he needs to lay off of the whammy bar.  Seriously, too many squeals abound.

Excellent songwriting, some of the best Sodom tunes.  RE: "An Eye For An Eye", "Never Healing Wound".  Actual songs, instead of just playing fast and loud, see their earlier albums.  Fantastic production courtesy of Harris Johns.  Pretty solid album all around.
