Shevy's Review: If
you're already a fan of psychobilly, the chances are pretty good that
you've already heard this. For everybody else, this is required
listening and mandatory for everybody's psychobilly collection. Hellbound,
the debut album from those Danish psychobilly hounds that make up Nekromantix,
is packed full of fantastic classic material like "Hellbound",
"Spiders Attacking Manhattan", "Down In The Swamp",
and "Electric Chair". While not quite as magnificent
as
their follow-up, "Curse Of The Coffin", "Hellbound"
is a highly energetic release with a furious, raw psychobilly sound of
distinct bass, gravel-laced vocals, spacey punk guitars, but topped off
with a fairly standard drumming effort. This ain't yo mamma's Tiger
Army album.
