Uncle Meat's Review:
Death metal mainstays Morbid Angel's first album helped establish the Florida death metal sound.  Guttural vocals, manic guitars, and a pissed off drum sound.  Trey Azagthoth's guitar tone help set the stage for a generation of wannabe players.  Pete Sandoval’s inhuman and cold drumming helped establish Morbid Angel as a death metal force.  It really doesn't matter what it sounds like.  The syrupy sound gives it a bit of charm in theses days of perfectionism.  I’ll admit to not being a huge Morbid Angel fan.  I thought 93's Covenant was lacking, but there is always the first.  Standout tracks:  Chapel Of Ghouls and Immortal Rites

Uncle Meat's Rating:  B
