I almost missed seeing this band at Macrock.  We were heading out to grab a bite when Mike said we should stay and watch.  The crowd was insane for these guys.  Of course, since they are from the Virginia area it helps with that.  People were piling up on the stage, at the request of the band.  And some of the people were in costumes, I remember a unicorn and astronaut. 

Mixing styles is nothing new in music today.  Plenty of bands do mix styles.  Mass Movement Of The Moth (MMotM) really rise above categorization.  On Finally!! their sound comes off as hardcore, especially the vocals, and traditional metal which is danceable.  Hard to believe?  I thought the same thing. 

As chaotic as it sounds, Mass Movement Of The Moth pull their sound off nicely.  The vocals, courtesy of Chris and Adam, mesh well together as they scream.  The guitar work is especially good in songs "A Festive Tint Of Green" and "Necrophilia Is Fun".  Be sure to check out "Necrophilia Is Fun" at around 1:20 for something which sound like old Scooby-Doo music.  The sound may be a little rough, but so what?  Can't wait for their next release.
