Shev's Review:
You have to appreciate what this Brazilian trio bring to the table.  They have this distinct formula of creating very technical and brutal death metal, and they refuse to stray very far from what they do best.  Ridiculous speed...tight, blazing guitarwork...drumming which rivals any given battlefield...and crushing vocals that don't need to fight with the rest of the music.  They're not the best, most talented, most innovative, or even most interesting death metal band out there, but they're excellent at doing what they do.

Fans of Krisiun's Brazilian flavor should have nothing to complain about with AssassiNation.  Well...possibly their cover of Motörhead's Sweet Revenge, which is a surprisingly convincing cover, but lacks the speed in which the rest of the album set the bar.  None the less, Krisiun has a gift for releasing albums just slightly better than the previous.  While all of Krisiun's material is pretty good in my book, AssassiNation includes a better selection of tempo changes and breaks, and in some cases, a bit more pronounced sense of melody.  Just a little variation to keep the album from becoming stale.  On that note, it would be a shame not to mention this album's ability to stay fresh.  I've spun this at least ten times already, and it's just as crisp as the first listen.  Highly recommended to any fan of solid, technical death metal, especially the death metalheads of old who tend to find the majority of new death metal albums ultimately boring.  This is Krisiun's best work yet...until their next album, at least.
