Lamp's Review:
Gorilla Biscuits stood at the forefront of a scene of New York straight edge hardcore bands back in their day, and the energy they portrayed still comes through in the recordings they left behind.  The speedy rhythms, the positive lyrics, Civ screaming so hard his voice cracks at times, it all shows a youthful vibrancy.

This self-titled release is like an evolution of the style of bands like Minor Threat, there are more speed changes (something like a slower verse with a fast chorus) which really catch my fancy.  The riffs are often pretty chromatic resulting in a pleasantly atonal attack of power.  The songs are short, the whole album only comes in at about 20 minutes long, but that's a good thing when you have virtually no attention span like I do.

The positivity is something new to me (although there are plenty of bands that write in a positive manner), but after hearing so much negativity, bands writing about targeting people they don't like and whatnot, you're bound to have bands that rise out of that front and say things like "We're not all bad guys in this scene!  Anyone is welcome!"  It's refreshing in a way, both on the mind and the ears.  Listening to this is very refreshing on my ears.  Yes.
