Shevy's Review:
For those that have already heard Exhumed's previous release, Gore Metal, or at least a little familiar with Exhumed in general, it's fairly obvious that these guys are big fans of early Carcass material.  Between Gore Metal and Slaughtercult, very little has changed.  The production sounds a little better, but in all honesty, that's simply not saying much.  The guitars are turned up to deafening levels which tends
to drown out the drumming and low end vocals.  Luckily, the drumming is nothing to really write home about, but does a nice job holding everything together.  Trading high-rasp vocals with low end growls over heavily Carcass-inspired grind and early death metal with just a touch of thrash doesn't exactly bring anything new to the table, but what they do bring they deliver very well.  Gore Metal was quite an achievement and really distinguished when compared to the rest of the incestuous genre, but Slaughtercult actually manages to take it up just a notch higher.
