Shev's Review:
For fans of GWAR, it was plain to see that their music was heading in a downwards trend starting in the mid-90's.  After four brilliant albums, GWAR released in order:  Ragnarok, Carnival Of Chaos, and finally We Kill Everything.  Losing their edge and opting for goofier lyrics and punkier sound, the future did not look bright for GWAR.  So what did Dave Brockie (aka Oderus Urungus) decide to do?  Start another band as an outlet for childish lyrics and hard rock-fused punk, leaving GWAR to deliver what their fans expected to hear.  So enter Dave Brockie Experience, which is essentially every zany, punky scrap of meat stripped from the bone, delivering an even mix of intensity and diversity as a thinned-down trio.  Whether it's punk, metal, or some odd story-like tune, DBX certainly don't take themselves very seriously...and if you expect to enjoy an album of this magnitude, neither should you.
