Skin Splitter's Review:
Back in the day before Lamb Of God, there was Burn The Priest.  A wonderful jaunt through the lives of the demo years of Lamb Of God.  What can I say about this except that is it definitely Lamb Of God, but the production value on this CD is somehow WORSE than New American Gospel.  Sure the music is there, but the vocals are so incoherent.  I describe them as passing farm animals through a wood chipper, a fun time to be had, but hardly anything to search for a deeper meaning from (like his lyrics...OH!).

As for the music, I wonder if they either got lazy or someone hit a few buttons.  Don't believe me?  Listen to the drums on Bloodletting and then compare them to Suffering Bastard.  What do you hear?  I hear a sound completely foreign to me in Lamb Of God.  I think that sound is bass.

After all the production flaws are done and you get past the fact that you won't understand a damn thing on this album, these songs are good.  Damn good.  They rival and sometimes beat the stuff off of New American Gospel.  Short time, fast paced, and brutal.  Just how I like my boxing.  And just like Anal Cunt or Pig Destroyer, I recommend listening to each song, but not all at once or in order.  Instead, pick a few songs, walk away, play something else, then go back to it.  The more songs you listen to in order or the longer you listen to it, the more it loses it's effect.  I recommend the first 4 tracks right away, then Suffering Bastard, and LameDuane is one of those secret song things that can only be tolerated if you cut out the silence.

Overall this is a great album to play at a college party when you're sick of all the Abercrombie jerk offs or hippies who come and ruin a good party with their Dave Mathews, hip hop (your heart stopped), or top 50, and you want them to die or at least go away.
