Shev's Review:
This nice thing about buying a split which includes a great band you're familiar with plus a band you've never heard of before is the fact that at the very least you're going to like half of it, and best case scenario you'll like the whole thing and discover an interesting band to pursue at very little cost.  Luckily, this is a very enjoyable split overall.  There have only been two pressings of this.  The first pressing was limited to 1,000 copies, 200 of which were pressed on yellow vinyl.  The second pressing only released 500 more.

The Anal Cunt side is pretty much everything one would expect from A.C.  Noisy punk/grind/blur destruction which was recorded back in February of 2001.  Unfortunately, they only included five songs, one of which is a complete dud (Bonus Track #5, which luckily is the last song on their side).  Flächenbrand, from Germany, came as a complete surprise.  This was recorded back in March of 2000, and is a great combination of hardcore and sloppy grind with much emphasis on the dual vocalists, Õlaf and Norris.  One of the vocalists resembles that of an old couple's poodle gnashing their teeth and growling as you walk by their Lincoln Towncar in a crowded parking lot.  The other tends to lean more towards a lower hardcore screaming style with voice cracks at the end, giving it a raw, desperate style which makes it sound like the singer is fighting to get the words out.  Couple that with some incredibly catchy more-hardcore-than-grind ramblings, and you get a band worthy of sharing a split with Anal Cunt in the first place.  Well worth the effort of tracking down.

Song summaries include:

Anyone Who Likes Dillenger Escape Plan Is A Faggot - Awesome, typical, sloppy Anal Cunt complete with very cool free mess/fretboard guitarwork.  On top of that, the lyrics are something that I can personally stand behind.
I'm Glad You Got Breast Cancer, Cunt - From here, A.C. breaks into some conventional punk/grind.  Nothing groundbreaking, but still a great song.
The South Won't Rise Again - Some fast and chunky A.C. for ya.
I'm Glad Jazz Faggots Don't Like Us Anymore - Outstanding, classic Anal Cunt with trademark chanted hardcore chorus.  Easily one of their best, however, I am a "jazz faggot" and A.C. is still one of my favorite bands.
Bonus Track #5 - Retarded, mid-paced, blues-growled garbage.  Good for a laugh once or twice.
The Flächenbrand-Stomp - Even though the song is structured around a mid-paced, sloppy riff, the whirlwind tempo changes keep this one interesting.
Bomb The CSD-Parade - The vocalist in the beginning needs to learn to take the microphone out of his mouth when he's singing.  Not a terribly interesting song due to the lack of speed.  This basically comes across as slushy, hardcore-inspired doom with a couple of quick seizure-like breaks and some dead air.
Emo-Fags Die!!! - Hilarious emo-core intro.  Great take-no-prisoners joke song, but waaaaaaay too short.  This one could easily use another minute.
The Ricardo Klement-Memories - Another intense and short tune perfectly fitting in after "Emo-Fags Die!!!".
The Circle Pit - Could do without the long, lazy intro, but a killer speed song.  Drumming is absolutely insane.
Utopia - A Citizens Arrest cover song.
