So you're looking to jump into the KitF Arena. Here is a quick
survival guide to help you out...
I want to play the game, so
what do I need to do?
The easiest way to sign up for a character is to register for an
account on the board, and then use the Sign-Up
sheet. Make
sure you include:
-
the name of your
fighter/wrestler
-
gender
-
whether you want a fighter or
wrestler
-
a physical description
-
and the background behind the
fighter
Here's an example:
Name: Warhorse
Gender: Male
Fighting Style: Fighter
Description: Warhorse shaves his head and comes to the
ring in a black ghi with red stripes down the pant legs, and a third
degree black belt. On the back of the ghi is a large sewn-on
patch of a Chinese Dragon, underneath reading "School Of The
Warhorse".
Background: Hailing from Los Angeles and eliminated
from most public tournaments due to his lack of control and utter
hatred of humanity, Warhorse looks to the underground seeking fame,
fortune, and bloodshed.
Note: Please submit
something realistic. I don't care if it's stupid, just make it
believable. Men that shoot fire out their ass or people with
robotic limbs are going to be rejected. Also, unoriginal
characters like Mr. T, Santa Claus, James Caan, and Optimus Prime
are not allowed.
Do fighting styles make a
difference?
Yes, fighting styles effect your fighter's stats. Here's the difference:
Fighters:
Power: 2
Speed: 3
Mind: 3
Endurance: 2
Brutality: 1
Wrestlers:
Power: 3
Speed: 2
Mind: 2
Endurance: 3
Brutality: 1
Okay, now I have this awesome character and
he/she is all set to go! What now?
Time to hit the Arena forum! There you'll find the other
fighters talking smack, making allies, and discussing their next
matches. Since the up-and-coming matches are posted there
along with the current match results, you're going to want to keep
an eye on what's going on. The next bout of matches will be
your debut, so you're going to have to think over some options...
Options? What do I have to do before my
match?
The first thing you should think about is how you want your
fighter/wrestler to perform. In order to do this, you'll need
to write up your "match account" which will be used during
the show. An example of a match account would be something
like this...
"The Nuclear Thundertard, already tenderized from his hallway beating, rushes Warhorse in the ring. Warhorse doesn't bother moving out of the way, but instead delivers a high instep kick right under Thundertard's chin. Thundertard is slightly dazed, arms out, trying to maintain balance. Warhorse knifes the blade of his hand into Thundertard's neck, and then grabbing two large tufts of hair, swings him into one of the make shift posts!
Warhorse immediately charges Thundertard, crushing him with a side kick in the gut. A punch to the face. Kick in the knee's. Back hand across the face. Warhorse has the upperhand as he pulls him from the turnbuckle and shoves him into the barbed wire! Thundertard helplessly collapses into it, gashing up his face, arms, chest, and stomach. The blood has started to flow as the crowd cheers on the potential of more bloodshed.
Tamakeri has a hard time getting over the barbed wire ropes, and Warhorse is right there to take advantage of it. Half way over, Warhorse runs and hits Tamakeri in the side with a flying side kick! Tamakeri tumbles to the side, but The Nuclear Thundertard pushes him the other way which sends him tumbling into the ring!
Warhorse jumps and brings both heels down onto the spine of Tamakeri, and then jumps towards Thundertard with fingers out-stretched. Double claws to Thundertard's already bloody face!
Tamakeri gets back to his feet as Warhorse raises two bloody fists for the crowd. Warhorse turns and swings his fist into Tamakeri's ear, spits in his face, and then grabs him by the same ear. It's hard to tell if there's blood coming from Tamakeri's ear, or if it's just blood from Warhorse's hand.
Warhorse leads him right into the barbed wire. Tamakeri is leaning up against it, but takes a stance and tries for one of Warhorse's ankles. Warhorse releases his grip on the ear, easily side steps Tamakeri's take down attempt, and rams his knee into Tamakeri's side. Another punch to the ear. And now Warhorse has Tamakeri by the back of the head and shoves it into the barbed wire ropes, and rips it across the wire!
Blood gushes from a massive open wound across Tamakeri's face stretching from ear to ear and across the bridge of the nose. Tamakeri throws a punch, but with the blood in his eyes he's way off. An elbow to the face by Warhorse sends blood splattering everywhere. And now the push over the ropes...
Tamakeri goes tumbling ass over elbows, gashing up his whole front side on the barbed wire! Warhorse wipes the sweat from his face, streaking it with blood. Now Warhorse points up the ramp and yells, "Let this be a lesson to anybody foolish enough to get in the ring with Warhorse! I will cut you! I will cripple you! I'm the best fighter in the roster, and I'll beat everybody here twice to prove it!"
You don't have to submit that
much, and only a paragraph minimum is required. However, for
every paragraph written you'll get a bonus to your stats. If
you want to dominate in the ring, you'll need to think about quality
AND quantity.
Second, you may want to have your
character cut a promo before the match. This will help your
fighter gain a wider fanbase, and increase one's chances of
competing for a belt or trophy.
Finally, you can always choose to spend some of your
money. New characters start out with $10,000, and make more
with every match they compete in. Obviously, winning nets more
loot than losing. You can spend your cash on
increasing your stats, gambling among other players, buying
specialty items, or even buying your way into a match.
Be sure to check on the KITFA board for what's currently for sale.
So all you have to do is private message Shevy on
the board with your actions. As a matter of fact, here's
a link you can use if you're already signed in. Make sure the Subject of your message is
your fighter's name. Here's an example of how this should
work:
Subject: Russel "The Bloody Swagman" Smith
Strategy: Spend $30,000 to increase Mind one level. Promo
as follows...
"I am Death blares across the PA system as The Bloody Swagman storms down to the circle, cricket bat slung over his shoulder and Death Match Championship around his waist.
He swipes a beer from a fan and chugs it down before choking for a second. He brings it back up and spits into the fan's face. He looks at the label...
"What the fuck is this, Yank!? 'Budweiser!?' GO HOME AND GROW A FUCKING COCK YA DROPKICK!" Smith crushes the can on his skull and throws it into the crowd before grabbing a mic and getting into the ring.
"BASEBALL!? WHAT THE FUCK!? Listen, blokes, I've got nothin' against yer sports an' all but I just don't hold a preference to a Baseball bat. So, I thought I'd bring me own bat, a cricket bat. More surface area an' all, ya see? And the ridge on the back allows me to diversify me beatings. So, if ya don't mind, I'll be beatin' The Establishment to a bloody pulp NOT with a baseball bat, but with me trusty cricket bat. Ah, the amounna odd centuries I hit with this bludger, she's been good ta me...
"Anyway, where the bloody hell was I? Ah, yeah, the match...Ricky, mate, I hope yer have no hard feelin's about what I did ta George Bushwhacked...and then that military jew, Gershawitz...sometimes me lust for a bit of mayhem...a bit of violence...a bit of...blood...gets outta hand ya see. Anyway, mate, we'll put aside our differences so we can hammer Stevy here an' I'll be waitin' for ya when ya get back. So, yeah, nah, that's the end o' me piece, let's get this show on the road, eh?" The Bloody Swagman tosses the mic into the air and smashes it for 6 with his Cricket Bat before grinning at the scowling tech guy nearby."
-Match actions-
As the match begins The Establishment hunches, looking from one man to the other while they approach him, Smith practicing his swinging motions and Victory tapping the bat in his hand. Smith grins, charges and slams the ridged side of his cricket bat into Establishment's crotch before giving Ricky some room who winds back and smashes the bat into Steve's skull. The Establishment drops to the ground and Smith and Sanchez start hammering away.
Smith motions to Sanchez who picks him up and gets him in a headlock. Smith then starts slamming Matthews' gut with his cricketbat and to top it off Sanchez drops him to the ground with a hard right fist. The Establishment rolls around, clutching his gut before coughing up some blood.
Smith brings Steve to his feet, leaves him and he and Victory begin taking turns taking swings at Steve with their bats. Smith again winds up on the ground coughing and sputtering, bruises are beginning to show on diferent parts of his body.
With a wicked grin Smith begins driving his cricket bat into Steve's crotch again and again before sizing him up and doing it all over again. Smith then turns his bat upside down and stands over The Establishment who's now lying on his back, breathing heavily. Smith then drives the bat's handle into The Establishment's sternum as he screams.
What are the rules of these fights?
Some fights might have their own specialty rules, but for the most part
anything goes. The most popular way to win a match is to pin
your opponent's shoulders to the mat, but one can also win through
count-out, submission, knock-out, etc.
So how do I raise my (insert stat here)?
Through money, winning matches, and acquiring items/trophies. You're just going to have to work hard.
And have fun. But mostly the working hard part.
What was this part I heard about injury and
death?
Very simple. If you get beat bad enough, you run the risk of
having your fighter sit out a week to recover. In extreme beat
downs, it's possible your fighter can get killed. There is no
coming back from death. When your fighter dies, he's dead and
gone.
What is with the Trophy Rooms on the character
pages?
That's a collection of not only trophies, but anything else your
fighter may collect during their career. Just about everything
one can acquire will effect one's stats which will show right next
to the trophy or other award.
